The purpose of My Discovery Gardens is to provide a fun, safe, loving environment to discover what the world has to offer.
We believe a child’s early experiences enrich and stimulate future growth. Children deserve to be treated and respected as individuals in an environment that welcomes reason, exploration, question, and imagination while nurturing their unique qualities and potentials. We respect each child’s need for love, security, acceptance, warmth, and stimulation and are committed to providing the highest quality of childcare and Early Education. We also believe in supporting the whole family through strong parent partnerships.
The goal of My Discovery Gardens is to provide a safe and happy place for children where they can learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially at their own pace. Children learn through play and will also benefit from a structured yet flexible schedule. Your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, which will stimulate sensory motor development, language development and social interaction. The development of strong self-esteem is also a major goal. Children will be taught to respect each other, adults, and property through positive guidance, reinforcement, and redirection. My Discovery Gardens takes a child centered and child directed approach to childcare. Children are offered choices whenever possible. Several Child Development theories are utilized. No child learns and develops the same as another. Your child will be exposed to the theories of R.I.E., Waldorf, Montessori and more in order to make sure that each child gets what they need.
My Discovery Gardens also utilizes Sign Language to help ease the frustration of Infants and young children who can’t get their words out. Preschool activities and Kindergarten readiness information is also offered. My Discovery Gardens will assist you in the toilet training of your child, but please remember that this is a team effort between you the parents, the child and the staff at My Discovery Gardens and please remember that consistency is key.
Finally My Discovery Gardens strives for a healthy future. Along with fun physical activities, healthy meals and snack choices will be offered.
